Marshall County Solid Waste occupies seven acres of land. Though our facilities occupy some of that property, we also have several acres not suitable for building. Over the years, with the help of grants, we have been improving these areas by replanting them with pollinator-friendly native plants. These plants not only improve the drainage and aesthetic appeal of our property, they provide necessary support for the birds and insects that help support our local agriculture.
In 2022, we were proud to receive the State of Indiana Friend of Conservation Award from the Association of Indiana Soil & Water Conservation Districts in recognition of our efforts.
